Matt Kanelos plays piano and guitar.
He writes songs, sings and leads a band based in New York City.

Raised in Frankfort, IL – a south suburb of Chicago –
Matt started playing the piano in grade school.
He started playing jazz in high school.
Then he studied classical piano at Chicago Musical College.

One year short of graduation,
Matt quit college and moved to New York to play jazz piano.

He learned to play many different musics in New York.
He also started singing and writing songs.

In 2004, he enrolled at the City College of New York as a psychology major.
One year before graduation, Matt changed his major to English.
Two years later, he finally finished his bachelor’s degree.

While in school, Matt continued writing songs
and playing shows in New York City with his band.
In 2005, he recorded his first EP, Children Love to Dance.

He and the band are currently working on their first full-length CD
due for release in fall of 08.
